There was a time when I used to blog.\u00a0 And I used to blog often, and they were heartfelt, well written, and honestly quite good.\u00a0 And then suddenly life happened.\u00a0 We had a baby, we changed jobs, and cities, and went on furlough.\u00a0 And then all over again we changed houses, organizations, and then just like that\u2026we are no longer raising a baby, but we are raising a toddler!\u00a0 An active one at that.\u00a0 But let\u2019s see if I can\u2019t get something written, and try and blog more regularly again.<\/p>\n

Since I\u2019ve never had children before its funny the types of things I find myself doing.\u00a0 I\u2019d like to believe that every parent does this, but what if I\u2019m the only one!\u00a0 No I can\u2019t be the only one.\u00a0 Of course I think MY Maddy is the smartest baby ever.\u00a0 And we go places, like the park or story time at the library and I watch other children interacting and participating, but NONE of them are as smart as MY Maddy.\u00a0 I always catch myself asking \u201chow old is he\/she\u201d hoping their answer will be older than Maddy.\u00a0 (Most of the time it is).\u00a0 And in my mind I\u2019m super proud, because MY Maddy is younger and just as advanced as some of the older kids.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s funny, she\u2019s sweet, she\u2019s playful, she understands most of the commands I give her (even though she sometime smiles and pretends like she doesn\u2019t).\u00a0 She likes to help, more times than not, it\u2019s not really helpful at all.\u00a0 But I try and let her help when I can.\u00a0 I\u2019ve learned to be more patient, not rushing through laundry (she loves to \u201chelp\u201d me with laundry), and not rushing through other chores, letting her do basic things she can do.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been told to enjoy each and every phase and believe me we try!\u00a0 But I do look forward to the time when we can work together in the kitchen, and she can help me with laundry (and it will be helpful), and we can go get pedicures together!\u00a0 That phase will come soon enough, and I know I will miss the phase before, so for now I\u2019m going to enjoy the little things she likes to do.\u00a0 And take each day one step at a time.<\/p>\n
